Brass Metal Sothu Pazhagai Murugan – Traditional South Indian Temple Art
Product Description
Sothu Pazhagai – Heritage Reimagined
Once a humble kitchen essential in Chettinad homes, the Sothu Pazhagai was used to drain water from freshly cooked rice — a quiet witness to the warmth of every meal.
At Shilpashastra, we’ve revived this forgotten form by transforming it into a piece of sacred art.
Each Sothu Pazhagai is handcrafted from seasoned Vaagai, Teak, or Rosewood, finished in elegant tones, and adorned with a hand-cast brass deity and temple bell.
What was once an everyday tool now stands as a symbol of purity, transformation, and devotion — where old-world purpose meets timeless design.

Care & Maintanence
To preserve the beauty and integrity of your Shilpashastra creation:
• Keep the piece in a dry area, away from direct sunlight or moisture.
• Clean gently using a soft, dry cloth. Avoid water or harsh cleaning agents.
• If needed, apply a light wood polish occasionally to maintain its natural sheen.
• Avoid placing heavy objects on or near the sculpture, especially those with delicate carvings.
With the right care, your handcrafted wooden artwork will continue to radiate its charm for generations.
